![]() It's JUST a piece of beta software that Microsoft is hoping everybody will beta test for them, although we already know that any of the actual, insightful feedback they are given will likely not be what makes it into the final pie.ĭarkbreeze said:I'm not sure why you'd even want to do this, when the ONLY point of Windows 11 is that it has a different look/aesthetic. All of which ignores the fact that Windows 11 isn't meant to be used as a primary daily driver OS at this time. In the past, making Windows 10 look like 8.1 or 7 made sense, because there were a lot of fundamental changes under the hood, yet a lot of people preferred the look and navigation methods of the older OSes, but had the only change from them to 10 been the way it looked, that too would have pretty much been pointless, as this is. So if you are going to install Windows 11 and make it look like Windows 10, why wouldn't you just run Windows 10? In fact, seems they've REMOVED a fair number of features, like Cortana and tiles, which I'm in favor of but not everybody will be. I've read about nor found no major changes, so far at least, in terms of new technologies, file system advances or other improvements under the hood that would lead me to believe that in that regard there is any difference between 10 and 11, aside from the way it looks and handles navigation. I'm not sure why you'd even want to do this, when the ONLY point of Windows 11 is that it has a different look/aesthetic. If you have StartAllBack, you can also enable classic context menus from the Explorer tab. See our article for all the steps, but in brief you need to create a registry key called under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID and then create another key under that called InprocServer32 and finally set the Default value there to a blank space. However, as we explain in our article on how to get full context menus in Windows 11, there's a simple registry tweak that will bring the whole menu back. Of course, Windows 11's solution to this problem is to make you click a "Show more options" link which then gives you the classic context menu. ![]() txt file, Windows 11 did not give me an option to open it in Notepad , a popular text editor I had installed. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell\Update\Packages ![]() You can get there by hitting Windows key R and typing regedit into the run box.Ģ. Make sure a third-party Start menu app is installed before you take these steps.ġ. If you're willing to live with the downsides, here are the steps for getting the Windows 10 taskbar in Windows 11. It also allows you to unlock the taskbar and drag it to the sides or top of the screen. However, if you don't use the classic taskbar, you can get those back in another way, which we'll explain in a section later. On the bright side, enabling the classic taskbar also gives you back the Windows 10 File manager (with ribbon) and the Windows 10 right click context menus. You also must have a third-party Start menu installed, because clicking the Start button on the classic taskbar will do nothing on its own. However, you can search directly from the Start menu and hit Windows key Tab to get the Task View menu. Considering that the Windows 11 taskbar's Task View and search buttons work, this is a loss of functionality. The Task View button is worse than useless as it crashes when you click it, causing the taskbar to hide your icons for a minute or two while it recovers, so you should hide it also. There's a search box, but clicking it does nothing, and you may see a Cortana button that does nothing.

The more locations your team controls, the more points you accrue for gunning down an enemy player. ![]() ![]() Here’s a quick breakdown of the Crucible’s standard game modes:Ī 6v6 match in which both teams vie for control of three different capture points. Today’s Crucible is a far cry from the multiplayer experience when Destiny first launched at the end of 2014: Originally there were four game modes to choose from. There are now 11 permanent and weekly rotating game types. The Crucible features several modes, each providing its own objectives, as well as a few special event modes that show up on a weekly or monthly basis. Newer players may not have access to as many abilities and upgrades as those who have put in significant time with their class. That being said, lower level Guardians aren’t on exactly the same footing as their more experienced counterparts. Legendary and Exotic items, which are much more difficult (and, in some instances, outright impossible) to acquire at lower levels, still have upgrades that give players an edge, such as quicker reload times. Similarly, each class (Titan, Warlock, and Hunter) is outfitted with three “subclasses,” each of which has its own subset of abilities. A level-10 Guardian can theoretically stand toe-to-toe against a level 40 Guardian and the winner will be determined by who has the quicker trigger finger, rather than the highest stats. To make its competitive multiplayer balanced and fun for everyone, most Crucible modes do not factor in your gear’s light level. In the past, rewards from raiding and completing weekly activities (such as the Nightfall strike) outweighed those from its competitive multiplayer mode, the Crucible. The latest chapter in the Destiny saga, Rise of Iron, balances these activities in such a way that players can level up no matter which activity they’re playing through. The game dangles new pieces of Exotic gear as carrots on the metaphorical stick, daring Guardians to “become legend” in pursuit of better guns, better armor, and a higher Light level. Players who had moved on to other games return to shoot their way through new story missions, cooperative strikes, and epic six-man raids that test the limits of teamwork on consoles.
